Kim was born in Wild Rose, Wisconsin and attended grades K-4 in Wild Rose.  For grades 5-8, she attended Immanuel Ev. Lutheran School in Waupaca, WI. Kim attended Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI. and graduated in 1989.  After high school, she attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.  

In May 1993, Kim graduated from (D)MLC and was assigned to Christ Ev. Lutheran School in Oakley, Michigan.  She served there for 5 years. During those years, she taught grades 1-4, played organ, directed the choirs, coached cheerleading, and helped with Vacation Bible School.

In 1998, she was called to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran School in Tomah, WI.  Here she has taught grades 1,3,4, and 5 in various combinations. She has also served by playing organ, directing St. Paul Singers for a few years, participating in choir by singing and accompanying, and directing the handbell choirs.

Kim served on the executive board of the WELS Handbell Festivals as the national chairperson for 6 years, and then as treasurer for several years.  She has also served as a director many times at the WELS Handbell Festivals.

In addition to teaching the students of St. Paul, Kim has had the privilege of working with 11 teacher candidates from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. as they prepare for their full time ministry. She carries her Wisconsin state teaching license and continues to take various courses to further her education.  She has also attended several conferences, like the Wisconsin State Reading Association conference and the Wisconsin Title 1 conference. She has also attended the WELS Conference on Music, Worship, and the Arts as both a participant and as a presenter.

In her free time, she enjoys doing outdoor activities such as turkey hunting, deer hunting (both archery and gun), fishing, kayaking, snow-shoeing, and hiking.
