Pastor Korey Van Kampen and Family
So, you’d like to know a little bit about me? Where to begin…
I come here by way of Texas, Washington and Arizona, having grown up between Phoenix and San Antonio, and having served churches in Kennewick, WA and Flagstaff, AZ.
My family and I moved to Tomah in January 2020. I remember the day vividly when the moving truck arrived here. It was 4 degrees outside. Welcome to Wisconsin!
If you’re wondering what I think is the most enjoyable part of what I do, it is getting to meet people where they are at in life, to share God’s Word with them through Bible Classes, Sermons, and other interactions, and watch them grow in faith. Sometimes the growth is staggeringly fast. Other times it isn’t as noticeable until a couple years have passed. Everyone grows at their own pace.
My hopes and dreams are for St. Paul to be a place where everything is centered on the good news of what Jesus has done, where we are welcoming to outsiders and people who are completely unfamiliar with church and with Christianity. I want people who come to my church to know Jesus like I know him.
I have a wonderful, loving, and supportive wife along with four beautiful, if not a little rambunctious, blessings from God, the youngest of which are twin girls, born in April 2013.
I’m probably most known for being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. (I know, forgive me.) I lived in Texas during their glory years of the early 1990’s, so I couldn’t help it, even though they haven’t given me too much to cheer for lately. My other pastimes include ice hockey (thanks to a local friend in my former church in Kennewick, WA for getting me hooked), golf (only the cheap courses), and spending time with my family.
Enough about me. I look forward to meeting you in person someday, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. Until then, take care and God bless.
Thanks for stopping by.
